CONCERTS

These are photographs of local and touring musicians performing in a live concert setting. I wanted to capture the infectious energy felt by physically being in that space. As a music lover and avid concertgoer, there is nothing more exhilarating than being in a space filled with music, cheering, singing, dancing, pure energy, and the special relationship between artist and crowd. My work examines how this energy and movement can be captured in a split-second snapshot—whether it be the bounce of hair, the sweat dripping, the mid-jump moment, or the open mouth screamed lyric. I focus on bringing out bright and vibrant colors in my work as a way to emulate the sense of energy and excitement of the concert space.
